PMOS

Can anyone tell me how the drain voltage of a PMOS changes with its gate voltage?

Moreover, what are the differences in operation between NMOS and PMOS?

Thanks.

Re: PMOS

Hello John, the PMOS and NMOS issue is always confusing because of the sign changes. Some helpful tips are that like a NMOS refers voltages from the source, refer all voltages in a PMOS to the source. So Vgs from NMOS becomes Vsg Vds becomes Vsd. This will clear the sign confusions, and you can use the NMOS equations. With this sign convention Vthp will also be taken as positive, rather than negative as it is normally given.
There are many ways to look at it. Its better if you think it through yourself and establish your own way to understand it.
