Regarding ADS

Hello All,

I am newbie to ADS, I want to know about Layout capabilites of the tools,

Is it possible to draw physical layout of any MOS transistor (not PCB layout) .
that is, i mean to say, does the tools has layer like poly, nwell, metal etc for drawing layouts.

Regards,

Preet

Re: Regarding ADS

Hi
No problem You can add any number any named layers if you need in ADS layout
For ex. I have used ADS layout for CMOS parametr. cells.

Re: Regarding ADS

Hi Grig,

But I thought that, it is supporting PCB Layout.

Now, there will be lots of question coming in my mind that,
how to assign layers like poly, and metal and their corresponding gds layer no. and how it will run DRC.
how to extract various parasitic elment of the layout.
How i can select technology file?

ok if it is possible than, is it possible to give the design to any fabrication lab?

regards

Preet

Re: Regarding ADS

Hi, Preet

You can use Options\Layers dialog in the layout menu to creat new layer assign gds number ....
I have no expirience for DRC in ADS , I use Cadence DRC

You can set substrate in the Momentum menu (Layout window) and perform EM simulation so You will have all parasitics including unwanted trace couplings, couplings via substrate on silicon...

ADS Layout is good for not very large designs (on silicon too) at GHz freq (I think so)

Re: Regarding ADS

u can use @DS layout ,but u must have the design kit from the foundary

many MMIC foundaries support @DS design kits for layout , DRC , Em simulation and device models
