I want to know about PIR sensor and their design

I am using few PIR sensor and using kc778b chip for their interfacing.
I am planing to use other sensor which is not compatible with kc778b i.e RE05
I am presently using RE200, SDA05,RE46 etc.


I want to know all about pir sensor and their circuits in detail.
circuit can be analog or it can digital using DSP.

can u provide me cool links for this:idea:
 

i am looking a device that mostly seen on the lifts door that open when a person entering in the lift

infrared is installed in a kiosk. when someone is infront of the infrared beam the software should detect the beam interruption, it should detect that someone is infront of the kiosk and raise an event...and i want to control this device from Visual Basic is this possible

can any bedy tellme where i can find the PIR motion detector device that i can use serial interface with pc
and RS232 or 485 Adapter to use this kind of device
