clean noise

Hi everyone,
I'm trying to use a clean source with close to -150 dBc/Hz phase noise for one of the projects. Can anyone suggest such sources?

Re: clean noise sources

Signal Generator HP/Agilent 8664A has -140 dBc/Hz typical SSB phase noise at 20 kHz offset at 1 GHz with Option 004. Now depend what offset are you looking for -150dBc/Hz.

Re: clean noise sources

Thanks for the reply
i'm looking for -150dBc/hz at 10 KHz offset.

Re: clean noise sources

You can follow the signal generator with a crystal filter. The real problem is the -174 dBm of any amplifiers following the filter.

Re: clean noise sources

This is a well-known low phase noise crystal oscillator from ADI:
**broken link removed**
which has –138dBc/Hz at 1kHz.
Assuming 10dB/decade slope, the phase noise could be close to your target.

Also you can try this oscillator:
**broken link removed**
