Re: floorplan question

It wud be better if u refer to tool manuals of PC magma or Soc encounter...

floorplan question

IO floorplan is new tech for EDA vendors. Synopsys has annouced JupitorIO for IO arrangement.

If your design is not more timing critical on IO, you can place IO as your experience. Place the specific IO cell near the relation logic.

If you have high frequency IO pad, such as DDR or SDR data signals, you can use IO place tools. But personally, I would perfer manaul place, it can give more acurrucy than EDA tools.

Re: floorplan question

hi,
I think jupiter manual or encounter manual is good ones

floorplan question

Hi,

Can anyone give some example on how to write io pad location. In need to create a .io file to import to encounter. Simple example will help me to understand the encounter manual better.
Thanx.

Siva

floorplan question

Hi siva_7517

You can dump a io file from encounter.
When import your design first, you does not need to give a io file. And then encounter will automatically arrangment IO cell around core. You can use File -> Save -> IO ... to save a IO file. It has two type, location or sequence. You can modify the IO file to your desire.

Good luck
