hi all,

What is the difference between default generic and default technology in symbol library? Can I use two different technology library artisan and ambit :

default generic = ambit library

default technology = artisan library

Is it possible?

Re: difference between default generic and default technolog

Generic by default is when u start to synthesize a design, there are 3 steps,
optimize,
tech Mapping and
netlist generation.

So at At the 1st step it optimizes the design using a generic mapping, i mean the generic library inbuilt in the synthesis tool(sample) are mapped, and then later on the required tech mapping is done as according to the library provided

Re: difference between default generic and default technolog

generic library has no drive strength, and all fliflops are same.

Re: difference between default generic and default technolog

technology lib - tech dependent
generic lib - tech independent
