Differential Input (Instrumentation) amplifier

differential input instrumentation amplifier

Hi

I understand the principle behind the differential input amplifier equation such as

R2a/R1a=R2b/R1b

Vout/V1-V2=R2/R1

What really confuse me is why a pull-up resistor is connected to the non-inverting. Can anyone kindly please explain the reason of using the pull-up resistor.

Is it kind of a potential divider? If yes, why then?

There is no pullup neccesary at the differential amplifier except if your design is powered from a single supply voltage. Can you give me your schematic?
