convert 12vdc to 240vac

What's is the function of Power MOSFET in Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS)?

Is it will converting the +12VDC to 240VAC? Or else?

Please explain.

Power Mosfet is a switching element in a UPS and it does not convert any voltage directly. I am inexperience about UPS but MOSFET is just a kind of powerful transistor which can operate in higher frequency. if u are wondering about a converter which can convert 12VDC to 240VAC. than you are looking for an Inverter. Hope this helps.

No its not like that......MOSFET is just a switching device, its can't convert 12V into 220V. In simple words... UPS firsts convert 12volts dc into ac(switching at 50Hz, here is done by MOSFET), this ac is fed into step up transformer to get 220Volts. For further details have a look at some power electronics book.

Hope this helps
