mc34262 application

Hi! I was just wondering if anyone knew what kind of power supply product a Boost Power Factor Correction circuit would be used for.

In general, how do you know if a certin topology will work for your application?

PFCs are required at increasingly lower power levels. Until a few years ago, we were only concerned with powerline harmonics at power levels above 500W. Today even sub-200W power supplies get a PFC.
The boost PFC is by far the most popular choice.

Today, the PF of power supply is regarded by every country's energy department. When the PF is very low,it will result in much wasting of power energy. So in the power supply, it introduce Power Factor Corrector.I know little about PFC.Pls refer to MC34262,UC3845,etc.u can visit ON Semi and Philips Semi website, there are many materials about PFC.
