cheap fpga

Hallo,
I would like to ask if there are any possiblities to get an FPGA (from Altera, Xilinx or any other vender) or better an hole demo(eval) board very cheap or better as "sample".

So I would be lucky if you could describe your experiences with these vendors or could tell me, if I could have any chances at exhibitions like the "embedded world 2003 in nuernberg.(???Does it make sense to go there and try???)

Why this all? you could ask: because I have not he money to aford such a board at the moment, but its important for me to get expericences with such devices.

thanks a lot for your answers and tips AND sorry for my bad english

fpga cheap

If you go to Xilinx website and search "development board",
you can get some results.
Spartan FPGA based boards are pretty cheap (not sure how much is cheap, however).

where to get cheap fpga

Try ebay - I picked one up there.

Also, try to find one for educational purposes - they can be significantly cheaper.

When registring your school or university to "Altera University Program"
you receive a free UP board (Cpld + Fpga) .
