Hello,

I'm confused in mosfest drivers, i'm using TLP350 and the load i switching using MOSFET is about 7 A, but driver max output current is 2.5 A, Is there is any relation between load current and the driver current? I'm limited by the driver or not?

Thanks.

load current is carried by the FET drain source

driver current goes to the FET gate source

there is no relation between the two currents
the driver current turns the FET ON (current into FET gate) and OFF (current out of FET gate)

Yeah and understand that driver current is a peak value that tells you how quick the driver can slew the parasitic capacitance of your mosfet. The average current out of the driver will be tiny. It only hits large peak values during the gate transitions (nano seconds).

Thank you both, i understod it now.
