For an offline power supply for supplying a Class D bass guitar amplifier with peak power of 720W (obviously the average power is 1/8th of that), would you say that the transient response is very important?....eg if the input rail to the class D amp sagged in voltage when a note was hit then that might make the bass sound a bit poor?
…And also, would you expect to see a large electrolytic capacitor bank to supply the transients (on the class D amp input voltage rail) first and foremost, or would you expect a lightning fast SMPS converter to do it?
