I'm looking for old Altera EPM7128SL FPGAs.
On ebay there are many at a bargain price, but I don't trust them. Could you give me some advice on where to buy them?
Is this for productioin, or just something you want to play with? If it's just to play with, what do you have to lose by spending a few dollars (or Euros, or whatever)?
EPM7128S is the obsolete 5V version. Mouser has only one type on stock. If you can switch to pin compatible 3.3V EPM7128A, the series is still in production.
The antique devices are probably a bit expensive for to play with. Intel has also obsoleted the larger PLCC packages, it may be necessary to reconsider your choice.
Have you looked at Microchip? I have been using some of the lower cell count versions to replace EPM3064/EPM7064 parts. These might be what you're looking for. You may need a different programmer.
