Hi guys, I have the DE1-SoC having cyclone 5 with the ARM A9 cortex, but I will be using the ARM to boot Linux and do python programming.

Currently, I have a problem that I can't open the GUI via the VNC viewer.
The manual I am using is :

The manual saying the Linux image file will include the VNC viewer, then I follow the steps by changing the IP address of the board and then open VNC viewer on my laptop and connect to "IP address:5901", it's not working

Is it because the Linux image file doesn't have the VNC installed?
Or I have to use another Linux image file?

I have tried Debian, but, I can't even see the CLI via putty.
And I am new to this.. haha

I am not sure I am posting in the right place or not as its an FPGA board but I will be using the ARM only....

Hope someone can enlighten me.
Thanks!

Sounds like VNC is missing altogether, you probably need to install it.
Also try "localhost:1" or "localhost:5901" as the connection address.

Brian.

Hi, thanks for the reply.
Because I am in the university, the ethernet cable cannot plug to a router and access internet, so I have some problem in downloading the VNC viewer into the board...
