hi,

i have used an a/c fault detector in my home electrical socket to test, which detects "live and neutral reversed issue". does it have any impact on my electrical equipments in longer run?
do i need really fix this issue?

thanks

Devices will function but its less safe. As an example light-bulbs are designed so the outside threaded metal part is neutral which you might touch while unscrewing it. Normally its safe, in your outlet it would give a shock.

Swapping 2 wires at the outlet is pretty easy if you have any interest in doing home electrical work (kill the fuse obviously).

almost all electrical equipment that meets any safety standard is designed such that the live and neutral are treated the same inside the unit - thus swapping should have no effect on operation. In practice, because the neutral is earthed at the local DB, the may be a slight difference in RFI from a unit ....

Consider that many countries don't have polarized connectors for single phase AC, but the equipment is designed the same.

do i need to bother about this ? do i need to get it fixed?
