I am trying to do SoC on XILINX fpga board? For example, the following reference design. https://www.xilinx.com/support/docu...-source-synch-serdes-clock-multiplication.pdf

WHat kind of cad tool and license do I need to run the above example? Does XILINX provide them for free or it requires a fee?

also, when it said, it had arm code inside, what does it mean? It had a hard core inside, I am assuming.

Thank you all for the help,

Best regards,

Brian

The ability to use the webpack version of Vivado depends primarily on the device size and the family.

See: https://www.xilinx.com/products/design-tools/vivado/vivado-webpack.html#architecture

You will still have to request a free license to run the free webpack tools.

The Zynq family has hard ARM A9 core(s) on the die along with FPGA programmable fabric resources.

Thank you for the message. Can you please recommend a evaluation fpga module board for the intermidiate level?

Thank you,

Brian
