equivalent noise bandwidth

all:

what is the RMS bandwidth, or equivalent noise bandwidth?

There are some express for it.

[[The noise bandwidth of a frequency response H(f), or RMS bandwidth, is the cutoff frequency at which a box-shaped frequency response would pass the same amount of white noise energy as H(f).]]

I cannot understand it. who can give me some details for it?

rms bandwidth

The area under ideal box-shaped frequency response curve should be equal with the area under the RMS bandwidth of your real response curve.

Re: what is the RMS bandwidth, or equivalent noise bandwidth

u can find details in the book about random signal processing

Or you can read Chapter 4 in Johns&Martin book which is available at this site.
