Hi I would like to know how to design a simple electronic circuit that will control the mini 12Vdc 2A solenoid through a microcontroller and custom VB.NET application through rs232 communication?

Hi,

there are so many schematics, circuits, ready to buy solutions in the internet...What´s wrong with them?

Why RS232 to just control ON/OFF?
Instead of true RS232 data communication you could just use the control signals like RTS/CTS...to control a photomos (don´t forget free wheeling diode)
