[SOLVED] torque screw instead of ring terminals

Hi,

manually tinned wires are a no-go for reliable and especially for high current connections.
The tin is weak and will loose contact force with time.

The best are crimped contacts - but only with a suitable, high quality crimp tool.

If you need details, do a search for "gas tight crimping".

The wires I use aren't manually tinned they are completely tined by factory, I don't tin the ends with solder.

Wouldn't soldering the ring terminal onto the wire be just as good as crimping it?

no
high quality crimp, especially gas tight crimp, is a really good mechanical contact

solder is used as glue to hold good mechanical connections in place.
solder should not be the connection
