Dear all,
I am trying to understand the working of capacitive DAC array. In a conventional capacitive DAC array, 'c' is used as a dummy capacitor. But in some papers i see '2c' also as dummy capacitor. Could someone help me understand this?

Thanks,
Chinmaye R

"dummy" could be an inexact term for this guy. In general, in charge redistributive cap-dac the smallest charge portion has to be divided equally between LSB unit and this dummy.

It can be unit cap for classic binary weighted C array or C-2C, while for some split arrays it can be different value.
Everything depends to architecture and is related to the way of charge distribution.
