Hi,

There is a UPS 1 kVA having backup time 60 min. If the power factor of the UPS is 0.8 then it can support 800 watt load for 60 min, right ? What about if the load is reduced to 400 watt ? will it work for 120 min ?

yes the time will be double when the load is half of the full load.

Named UPS system specifications this is at temperature of 20 Celsius, actual battery performance this is not stable and it does degrades by its day.
I own two APC UPS both at 1000VA, both expensive, but different in battery compartment size.
True battery capacity this it should be inspected with electronic DC load among with internal resistance measurement.
If you mention how old is your batteries then you will receive better answers.
