Hi,

I have to operate a 230Vac pump with a microprocessor for a few seconds, what do you think of this solution?

R44 isn't necessary and R3 may need a slightly lower value but otherwise it should work.
Note that it may be advisable to add a snubber (33 Ohms and 100nF in series) across the triac MT1 and MT2 terminals in some circumstances, depending on the motor type.

Brian.

With 820 ohms, there will be about 3 mA driving the phototriac.

Have you read the datasheet for the MOC3043 phototriac, to ensure that this will be enough to trigger?

Please post the datasheet.
