Hello, I am designing a quadrature VCO but I can't achieve wide tuning range.. Which do you think is the best way to do so? I use a simple LC-tank topology.

All you have to work with is the Cmax-Cmin range of the varactor,
as a fraction of total node C. Scaling varactor up and inductor
down, and minimizing size of anything connected to the tank,
is about all you have for "knobs".

I would like to make tuning range 2.5to5GHz and I wonder if a capacitor bank will work or not ..Also I have a question about signals on switches.. should they be something like different clocks ? like bit0->clk, bit1->clk/2 etc (clk signal from a vpulse) tuning.PNG
