STI from all four sides

Hi

For any gate, Will STI effect come from only left& right side of the corresponding gate or it'll come from both top & bottom sides too??Could anyone explain it in detail

STI totally surrounds active areas so ... yes, STI effects the gate region from all four sides.
 

You are most concerned about where (active*poly) touches
STI (==!active). If poly rund north / south, the STI at the
east and west ends is not really going to do anything, it's
"stood off" by the S/D implant & contacts away from the
active gate.

"Affects" all four sides, perhaps, if you want to quibble.
But get quantitative and only two will really show anything
significant.
