I'm designing a closed loop brushed dc motor controller. I want to create a position profile in which motor velocity will be s-curve type for smooth operation. Normally I can do it using jerk, accelaration and velocity integration formulas. But instead of it, I want to create the position profile directly using an ordinary function like sigmoid function and extract the velocity from that. I believe that it would be more simpler and controllable. So, how is this done in general? Is my thought possible? Can sigmoid or other function give the exact same results with the one which I use jerk, accelaration and velocity? Thanks in advance...
