Cadence Allegro vs. OrCad

Hello,

What is the difference between Cadence Allegro vs. OrCad ?

Is OrCad just a scaled down version of Allegro ?

Orcad is used for schematic design, Allegro is used for PCB layout design both the tool are from CADENCE.
Both are interfaced.
 

Actually no, the tool is sold under both names now as BigBoss says. OrCAD has less features than the Allegro tool offers but generally covers most users. When you get into complex routing with special rules and team design then the upgrade to Allegro is necessary.
 

So it is a true statement, that once you know OrCad PCB, you can learn Allegro since they are similar ?

I ask because that is my plan.

Yes, the interfaces are very similar.
