Hello Forum,

I am working on the design of a Gilbert Cell Mixer with reference to (https://pdfs.semanticscholar.org/74fb/3b545a3bbb080ae460218e861d2bbd34dd1d.pdf)

My Goals are:

1. Vdd should be 1V
2. Total current Idd approximately equal to 500uA-1mA
3. Voltage Conversion gain >= 6dB

Width of all nmos = 3µm
Width of all pmos = 8µm
R1 and R2 = 8KΩ
L1 and L2 = 2nH

I am getting a VGC of -26dB at plo of 2dB.
My first query to start my journey with edaboard is

Do we take the modulus of the gain value or -26dB is not a valid value. Please correct me if I am wrong in any of my assumptions.

8kOhmx0.25mA=2V...( One side of the pair flows the current itself )
Where is the headroom to work within ?? Do I'm missing something ??
