Hi!

Can anyone suggest a good topic for current mode dc-dc buck converter? It would be nice. Or a good book reeference for this topic. Or discussions of different architectures of current mode buck converter. Advantages and disadvantages.

There's the choice whether to do synchronous or asynchronous switching. Your paper could discuss advantages and disadvantages.
One method has a diode which is the easy way to handle the second half of the cycle. The other has a mosfet/transistor which is more efficient but takes more effort and must be based on current flow and direction through components. This seems to apply to your topic of current mode.

here is an ltspice simulation of a current mode buck
LTspice is free from linear.com....now analog.com?

if you want you can play about with the slope compensation, or even make it DCM, and then you dont need slope compensation.
Or you can add a few comps , and turn it into a constant off time converter...then again you dont need slope compensation

if its the concept of "current mode control" that you are wanting to investigate, then the attached ltspice sim shows it to you in a kind of parts blowout.

"Current mode control modelling" by Doc Ray Ridley talks well about current mode control.
I cant attach it here as its 1013KB
But maybe you can find it on the web

convert the .txt to .asc so that you can run it in ltspice.
i also attach a guide on ltspice

also i attach an interleaved current mode syncronous buck in ltspice

buck ads are
....inductor av current = av output current
control is quite simple in a curr mode buck.

disads are
slope compensation needed..if in ccm and duty >50%.
slope comp slightly degrades the short circuit response n some cases.
dcm means no slope needed, buut peak current is higher
buck is non isolated.
fet is often hi side.
..needs hi side drive if fet is hi side.
can use pfet but they are pricey
