I seem to be getting through quite a few cans of compressed air for cleaning dusty electronics/computers etc.

Is it Ok to use a small compressor with a filter/trap instead? Will the compressed air be just as clean as from a can?

If so, what type should I be looking for?

Thanks.

Airbrush compressors are quiet, low-ish pressure, oilless. Not
as cheap as their small size would suggest. Oilless pancake
compressors can be had for under $100. Do not neglect the
water problem however - probably worthwhile to plumb an
oil / water trap on the outlet.

Another option is just an air tank, if you periodically go past
some place where you can fill it. Tend to be 5 gallon so at
equal pressure should last about 40X as long as a can of
compressed air (although not as long as, say, a can of R-134
with a valve and hose - whether or not your enviroConscience
allows you to blow that off, is your call). You certainly -could-
cobble a blow-gun to the cut end of an A/C recharge kit hose.
You won't find anything cleaner than plain refrigerant.
