Cheap "Software Defined Radio" kit from China - asking for opinion

    Hello everybody,

has someone use that cheap SDR receiver kit form Cina (it has good reviews in shop offering it):

    https://www.banggood.com/100KHz-1_7G...r_warehouse=CN

Any comments form people using it, or hints for montage?

I will be graceful for any opinions.

    Regards

Check if the bandwidth of RTL2832U is sufficient for you.

    Hello,

    thanks for answer :)

If the information on the product page: 100KHz-1.7GHz is correct then it should be enough.

    Regards

The bandwidth of the baseband signal. Read some docs how does a SDR work.

What on Earth does " Please allow 1-3cm error due to manual measurement." mean in the link???

To be fair, I have a simple SDR based on the same chipset here and it does work reasonably well but can't compete with my analog and DSP based receivers by a long way.

This RTL chip has got 8bit ADCs so dynamic range will be poor in comparison with analogue receivers. I use my NooElec NESDR SMArt as a indicator rather than a instrument...
