I want to convert a vcd file to a saif file.
I used ModelSim to get the vcd file and when I use vcd2saif command, I get the following error:
Error: unknown command 'vcd2saif' (CMD-005)
I also tried to generate the saif file natively fom Modelsim, using the power add /* and pwer add /top/* command but got the error:
# invalid command name "power"
and
# invalid command name "pwer"
Is there any other way to convert a vcd file to saif?
I do not understand what the issue could be here. How do I resolve this?
I am using ModelSim-Altera 10.1d (Quartus ll 13.0sp1)

Thanks!

vcd2saif is an external tool provided by synopsys, it is not a modelsim command. did you try running vcd2saif on a terminal?

Yes, I gave the vcd2saif command in the terminal and got the error.
Error: unknown command 'vcd2saif' (CMD-005)

Yes, I gave the vcd2saif command in the terminal and got the error.

Clearly you did not based on the error message. Please understand there is the modelsim terminal (which is what you erroneously used) and then there is your linux terminal (which you should have used).
