Hi! can anyone please recommend references on MOS output stages? In particular class-AB?

I have reviewed the following books, but I'm looking for an alternative view on the subject (= I don't think they do a good job explaining the stuff.)

-Gray, Hurst, Lewis & Meyer (well explained, but outdated)
-Allen & Holdberg (better explained, too brief)
-Sansen (way too brief)
-Huijsing (lots of content, but badly explained IMHO)

Thanks, Jorge.

Rod Elliott's website has a great assortment to offer, in the realm of schematics and explanations. It includes few mosfet amplifiers. He advises that mosfet amplifiers should have tightly-regulated power supplies, due to mosfets being voltage-controlled devices, whereas transistors are current-controlled.

Thanks, BradtheRad. I checked the website; interesting info, but I'm looking for an IC-oriented treatment on the subject. Thanks anyway!

I'm under the impression that design of CMOS output stages in recent analog ICs is somehow secret manufacturer IP. I'm not aware of a profound discussion in analog design text books. May be you find some scientific papers.

Yes, I'm getting that impression too! I just found the treatment in Baker's book (CMOS Circuit Design, Layout, and Simulation) gives very nice practical details.

If someone can point to seminal/tutorial/relevant papers (class AB output design in CMOS), that'd be great!

Thanks so much, d123! I had seen some of them already, but that thesis is definitely going to be very useful! Thanks!
