Fields around ridge waveguide are very similar to microstrip line with air dielectric, especially for RGW waveguides.
Unfortunately cutting ridge for placing smd component may form (?) groove gap waveguide.
Is it possible to integrate SMD components directly to the ridge gap waveguides (RGWs)?
I have an idea of cutting waveguide walls below SMD component, or use bed of nails under smd component.
