This connector is commonly used to connect the output of a monitor backlight inverter to the light itself.
Does anyone know either the common name (like VGA, phonojack, etc.) or a formal one (like IEC***) ?

Surely no official standard. At best a connector type designed by a major manufacturer, copied by others so that it became a quasi-standard.

Expect a manufacturer logo or type specification on the plug or jack.
 

Looks similar to JST BHS series. For a qualified question, dimensions should be given.
 

I don't have one with me right now. I'll take measurements when I can.
