Hello,

I want to trigger a 24V circuit using a 12V signal. To do so, I thought about using a regular 12V relay triggered on pin 86 with a 12V signal and have my 24V circuit on pin 30 et 87. Will that work?

If not, will the same idea work on a 24V relay?

And if not not, does that kind of relay where the coil and the switch aren't at the same voltage exist?

Thanks in advance.

Fred

Numbers are referring to standard automotive terminal designation
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DIN_72552

Relay coil (85/86) and contact circuit (87/87a/87b) are isolated against each other and can use different voltage levels, if supported by the relays rating. Coils are specific for 12 and 24V, automotive relays contacts can usually switch at least 30 V.

Hi,

A draft could clarify what you want to achieve and how you connect it.
