    binary multiplication

Can anyone tell me what would be the resulting bit length if a 32bit and 16bit number is multiplied?

    Re: binary multiplication

Any multiplication result answer is the sum of the bits in the two multiplicands. So in your case for 32bit & 16 bit multiplication the answer will be in 48 bits.
