Hi!
I have a 230V 2A rectifier bridge whose DC side is connected to a 300uF capacitor. At the instant AC power is switched into the bridge, there may be a large inrush current. What are the methods to control inrush? I would prefer not using an inductor if possible.

Thanks
Mrinal

The usual methods are NTC current limiter and resistor bypassed by a contactor.

yes, and you can have a zero crossing detector and only switch on at the mains zero crossing if you want.
And you can do as FvM but use transistor to switch out the inrush resistor.

That's of course possible, but I don't think that transistor inrush limiter for passive rectifier bridges can be rated as usual method.
