input to serial to parallel and to parallel to serial what will be the output ?

if I give a binary input to serial to parallel block and then to a parallel to serial block should my output be the same ???

if same then why are we doing it , better to delay rather than adding serial to parallel block and parallel to serial block know ???

Such a mechanism is used by inter-chip communication protocols. Because the no. of ports/pins used are drastically reduced. Other than very specific reasons, I don't think
binary input to serial to parallel block and then to a parallel to serial block
is not used for inter-chip communications.

in hardware implementation of instantaneous frequency measurement we do it . thanks for the answer.
