Hi
I have recently started to design a custom schematic based on Zynq7000 FPGAs. For better attitude toward Zynq7000 hardware design , I have searched in many sample boards produced by Xilinx Co. In many of them two types of DDR3 memory are available , one for PS and another one for PL.In most of them PS Memory provided by on board DDR3 memory chips connected to special FPGA pins and PL Memory provided by SODIMM DDR3 (Small outline Dual In Line Memory Module). Now I have faced with some questions:

1- Is PL DDR3 (SODIMM) memory necessary for booting OS on SOC of FPGA?
2- I have a small space on my board , Can I Ignore PL DDR3 Memory (SODIMM) in my design?
3- Can OS use both PL and PS Memory at same time for increasing its memory space?
Thanks a lot
