Dear members,

I am trying to simulate a conical antenna placed on a circular ground having a cut-out for the Coaxial feed. The coax contains the Outer Cylinder (PEC), the inner Teflon and the innermost feed pin cylinder (PEC). The structure can be seen below;

Can someone please assist me on how to excite the coaxial feed in HFSS via a wave-guide port and a lumped port.
Awaiting your replies,
Regards

Hi kela3kela,

Simply create a circle that covers both conductors at the end of the cable, and assign a wave or lumped port to that surface. With the lumped port, you'll have to draw the integration line between the two conductors, which is just the direction of the electric field. The first excited mode will be the TEM mode.

planarm: Thnx.I will give it a try.
