HI.I am using dc-dc converter in mppt charge controller using perturb and observe method.I am using 50W solar panel. But i dont know what dc-dc converter should i buy.and what should be its input/output range.

Assuming your PV panel is rated 50W at 12V, and your battery is 12V type. It is common to have a buck converter, to prevent overcharging the battery.

A good upper limit is 14.4V (for a lead-acid battery). By tapering the charge rate, it avoids pushing the voltage too high. Otherwise the electrolyte would bubble and evaporate due to overcharging.

Hi,

Additionally you know that the current to the battery is less than P / U = 50W / 12V = about 4A.
