To those of you who have been helping me in the last few weeks, I would just like to thank you for your patience and effort in answering all my dumb questions.
I feel as though I have learned quite a lot, including filling in some fundamental gaps in my knowledge (re transistors) that have been troubling me for some time.
It is hard work learning electronics without the benefit of a physics or engineering degree but I am never the less enjoying the challenge.
