    Ferric Chloride amounts

    Hello.

I'm gonna try the toner-iron etching technique.
One friend of mine told me that 1L water needs 100g ferric chloride. Is this true? Any other suggestions?

    Thanks a lot and regards!

    Re: Ferric Chloride amounts

Hot and strong is the rule here. The concentration I use is 200 grams per litter.

    I know. I know. And once more - I don't know.
I am too old and would not have enough knowledge to judge, and only have made some remarks in order not to be called ignorant.

Various etchants have different advantages, and concentrations also vary based on your goals. I can recommend this article: http://www.ijeir.org/administrator/c...0Final%20N.pdf
