Following number of transactions were observed in each hour of a day
9, 15, 11, 12, 3, 5, 10, 20, 14, 6, 8, 8, 12, 12, 18, 15, 6, 9, 18, 11, 12, 10, 6, 8
Calculate the true (simple) and weighted mean of the above sample values.
Also measure the range and variation in number of transactions observed during the whole day.
I have calculated true mean,range and variance, but don't know how to find weighted mean, as there are no weights mentioned. Kindly tell what is x and w in the weighted mean formula for this example.
