I´m a retired man and electronics is my new hobby. I understand many of the principles and parts working.
However when i see a schematics become hard for me imagine how it works. I confused about the capacitor function in a circuit.
I trial to find for building blocks in a circuit, but i don´t know if it is right.
I appreciate any guides or tutorial on how understand or read a schematic circuit.
I apologize bu my English.
Thaks...:)

caps are used to act a a temporary or transient current shunt to noise voltage, the current is an integrator of voltage, also a DC block or RF coupler or an impedance vs f filter for bandwidth control.

There are millions of caps, with dozens of attributes, that define them uniquely.

pick 1 and ask for details with example schematic if that helps

SunnySkyguy,
Thanks for your prompt answer.
I understand how a cap works, my problem is to try on interpret a schematic because a i can´t interrelation what´s happen in different areas of the circuit a the same time.
For example i would like could know when a transistor is on while other is off. Many time this is due to different rates of charging/discharging capacitors.

Normally one examines steady state and power up state then works out what happens from external input.

I can read a schematic as fast as a book and I skim over the lines to see the inputs and outputs then the contents are recognized from decades of experience after connecting the lines.

Start with Design Magazines and web learning with Google "Images" that give schematics with keywords. When I was in school in the early 70's , I just ad magazines.

Then look at application notes. Soon you can read it like a book.

I remember an Engineer interviewing me from Seagate diskdrives , giving me a schematic for one of their smaller drives. Since I learned how they worked for several years , he stopped asking another question after I recognized the different sections for Read Chain, Servo stepper control, data separator, PLL , precomp cct, etc.

so it comes down to pattern recognition .

SunnySkygay, thanks for your comments.
