To create a POV display I would like to get my hands on/create a screen that has a refresh rate of in the range of about 1khz to 100khz, the higher the better. LCD won’t go this fast but OLED seems to be (physically) capable. The chips that drive these oled screen can however not be used at these frequencies (or does anybody know a chip that does?).

I was therefore thinking of using an fpga, and controlling the oled myself. Would this be feasible?

(I can use multiple small screens, so I’m not that worried about data throughput)

What would be the benefit of this, when update rates above
100Hz can't be followed by the eye?

"The higher the better" may feel good to say, but is certainly
untrue by some point.

Nobody has any thoughts on the subject?
