SIM300 module starts searching after 8-10 days, loosing registration?

I'm working with small GSM SMS alarm controller using the SIM300 module.
I have added a small microcontroller with RTC to one panel input, used to trigger a daily test message.

The problem I'm having is after 8-10 days of reliable test messages, I'm getting a fast flashing network LED indication, alternating to no flash.
During this condition, no input will trigger an SMS alarm condition.

After the power is cycled, normal network flash restores, and its good for another 8-10 days.
The T-mobile cell site is 600-700 meters away, full scale signal on all other GSM devices in building.

Does anyone have any thoughts? Is this relating to registration? Is this caused by the carrier?

I'm trying to decide how to reset the SIM300 without power cycling my full controller.
