Clustering analysis

Hello, I've been reading a few articles which mention clustering analysis or about "clustered usgin a neural network" myoelectric features. What is this cluster thing? How does it work? What is it's importance for signal processing?

Thanks

Re: Clustering analysis

Clustering Analysis is used in pattern recognization and the Vector Quantization is used in the signal processing. Basically, use the clustering or VQ to represent the signal set belong to the particulr clustering. It is more efficient for signal compression.

Re: Clustering analysis

hi,
it is basically a feature classification scheme, where features are divided into clusters together with a distance measure. anything that has to be classified is said to belong to a particular cluster if it meets certain threshold w.r.t. distance measure.

Clustering analysis

Where can I find some more information on this subject? are there any good e-books, papers or even web pages?

Re: Clustering analysis

hi,
try this for getting basic idea
**broken link removed**
there is a book on "pattern classification" by richard duda u can go through it for details.
also try google with cluster analysis or pattern recognition u'll find lots of useful links.

Clustering analysis

Very nice stuff for learning from the beginning. Do you have any other information os the use of CA with neural networks?
