xilinx fpga problem

I need help I have a problem with one computer, to program A fpga by a Jtag cable under XP. Maybe it's a update probleme but I dont know how do install service pack I have the three service packs but when I try to install it a pop-up message said " A valid $XILINX environement cannot be located and is required to load this software" can you help me please.
I use Xilinx ISE 4.2.

I met this problem too. Because there are no variable point for ISE.
You should add one in your XP system environment variable.
And the variable name is "xilinx" and value is the path where you install the software.

Ok service pack are install but download problem

I have try to change the driver in my winxp\systeme32\driver but I have the same probleme. I have install the tree service pack and Impossible to download with the LPT1, please help me.
 

1.add path %XILINX%\bin\nt
2.set xilinx=(your xilinx dir)
