I am trying to model a parallel plate capacitor which is filled with 2 dielectrics. I understand when the dielectric is air we can draw a rectangle connecting the 2 parallel plates and apply lumped port.

However if the dielectric is not air, as in my case, how can we excite?

Also for boundary conditions: Parallel plates are perfect E, what about dielectrics?

Thanks

hi excitation is done to the parallel metal plates. first in solution type use driven terminal model. after this you can put a rectangle sheet such that it touches both the metal plates and then you can use "lumped port" excitation by right clicking on the rectangle. assign excitation- lumped port. hope it helps
